Who we are
About
our Mission
Our Community established a mission in Barbados on January 12, 2003, at the invitation of the late Bishop Malcolm Galt, then Bishop of Bridgetown. Many persons in Barbados have joined the Community and are now Covenant members who serve in the various ministries.
On ten acres of land generously donated to us in St. David’s, Christ Church, stands the Living Water Community Centre for Evangelization and a residence for the Household members. Much activity takes place at the Centre with weekday Masses, prayer meetings, retreats, faith-building sessions, and ministry to the poor which includes a ‘Food Bank’. There is also a cafe which offers lunch Monday through Friday.
Who we are
About
Living Water Community
Living Water Community (LWC), founded in Trinidad and Tobago in 1975 by Rhonda Maingot and Rose Jackman, is a Catholic, Charismatic, and Missionary Community.
LWC comprises Household members who are engaged in full-time ministry within the Community, in parishes and at a Diocesan level; Covenant members and Associate members; Consecrated members living on their own; and Committed Couples who make an annual commitment. The members commit to a personal relationship with God and to the service of the poor and needy through the ministries of the Community, and are encouraged to be also active members of their parish and to participate in the life of the Diocese.
Pastoral Ministries
We have a variety of prayer opportunities and services available at our Evangelization Centre in Christ Church:

Social Ministries
As we seek to live Jesus’ command to love, we find peace and joy in serving others. All our social ministries are made possible by our members and many other persons who strive to live that commandment too. The income from our cafe, donations and various fundraisers enable us to continue this work.
Our ministry to those in need includes:

Vocations & Membership
Become a part of living Water community
There are ways for each and every person to be involved with Living Water Community. Whether it is volunteering or joining our Household, we look forward to having you!
Outside of the many friends and volunteers of the Community, we have four main ways to be a part of the stream of Living Water.
HOUSEHOLD mEMBERS
These members make promises of simple living, humble obedience, and loving celibacy, as well as a further commitment to communal living.
They serve as the nucleus of the Community, living and serving together within our various houses and missions.
CONSECRATED IN THE WORLD
These members make promises to simple living, humble obedience and loving celibacy, but go on living and working in the world.
Many of these consecrated members assist with ministries, even as they continue to hold a job.
COVENANT MEMBERS
These members commit to the prayer life and mission of the Community, but do not make any promises.
They commit to participating in Community meetings/activities, volunteering in ministries, and sharing life and supporting other members.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
These members commit to either the mission or prayer life of the Community, but are not able or ready to make a further commitment.
Associates regularly attend large Community functions and prayer gatherings.
Each year, we run a 6-week programme called Come to the Water to help those interested become more familiar with Living Water Community. For more information, fill out this form: bit.ly/joinLWC
In a few words…
PRAISE GOD!
“We give God thanks for His countless blessings and graces over these past 20 years in Barbados. We are grateful too for the many people who have joined our Living Water family or supported us in any way. To God be the glory, great things He has done!”
